I TOOK A "ME" DAY!!!

It was time for a "ME" day! Sunday I needed to take a day for myself. Last week was a crazy week. I don't work everyday but the days that I did work I had to be in at 7:30AM until close, which could be 5:30PM or 6:00PM. After dealing with children and babies all day, it can me a lot. I also had a cake to bake as well.

Since moving back home with my parents, there really aren't any quiet moments. Don't get me wrong, I truly appreciate and definitely thankful that I did have a place to stay but sometimes I do miss my own space. I decided to take that day Sunday. I knew they would be at church and it would be just quiet. Oh how I've missed it!

I slept late. I watched the food network. I took a nice long shower. I took Molly for a walk.

It wasn't an all day thing but just those few hours was wonderful! Sometimes you just need that peace and quiet and become rejuvenated!

Do you take "ME" days?

ANY PLANS FOR THE WEEKEND?

HAPPY WEEKEND BLOGGERS!!!

I had to change my plans for the weekend. Sometime things happen that you have no control over. This morning we received a call that my uncle, my father's brother had passed away this morning. But prior to receiving that news, their was another death call saying that a friend from New York had a heart attack and also died today. Two phone calls in one day! That is enough for me.

This is why you have to live each day as if its your last. I try not to take things and especially people for granted because tomorrow is DEFINITELY NOT promised!

I was going to take a ride to Charlotte this weekend but I think we are going to stay close to home now. The weather is starting to get really warm. I was in the mood for some Pinkberry and I thought I would take the drive but there will be other weekends. My uncle lived in Atlanta so I am sure we will have to drive there some time next week.

Have a GREAT weekend bloggers!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Today was a great day!
We arrived back from VA on Friday evening.
It was a good vacation even though it was rainy and chilly.
Back to Reality!!!

This morning we attended church and then we went out to dinner.
It was a very quiet day for us but, just being together as a family is always the best!
Life is so short so I cherish my mom!

I hope you all had a great day.
Happy Mother's Day to my blogger mom's.....xo

OUR DAY IN VIRGINIA

Today we attempted to go to the Botanical Gardens in Norfolk, VA. At the time share they give you a list of possible activities. My first choice was to go to the Zoo but we weren't sure if pets were allowed so that's when I suggested the Botanical Gardens. Its been years since I have been to the Botanical Gardens in NYC. Since it is majority out doors, I just knew Molly would be able to go. After the over an hour drive we finally find the place. As we are about to pay, Guess what? Yes, you guessed it! NO DOGS!! I couldn't believe it. I was a little disappointed.

But anyway, we decided to drive downtown Norfolk and did a little touring. It's been like forever since I have been to Norfolk. I went to Virginia State University for about 2 years. There were many occassions when my friends and I would drive to Norfolk for either a football game or a party. lol It was a good day!

Not sure what tomorrow holds but I will keep you posted!

KEEP CALM...

Happy Sunday....Keep calm I'm on Vacation! This morning my family and I left for Virginia. My parents have a time share and if you remember, we came here last year. The only downfall so far is the weather is coollllllddddd and rainy. Last year when we came it was june and the weather was much warmer. I had to even go buy new clothes because it was warm.

It took us about 8 hours to get here, Williamsburg, VA. We made several stops. Of course Molly is along for the ride! So we made a few stops so molly could have bathroom stops and to stretch her legs.

After we arrived, we went to go get dinner. I think we were extremely tired and decided to eat in tonight. We ate a place called Redhot & Blue. They have some good BBQ! I am so bad with remembering to take pictures. I'm Sorry!!!! Just know I had some finger licking bbq ribs, cole slaw, baked beans, red skin mash potatoes, and bread. I didn't have everything listed but I had majority of it. lol...I know, there goes my diet!

Hope you all have a great week, I will!!!

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY

Appreciate Honesty from Other People

Everyone loves compliments, but very few know how to handle constructive criticism. No one likes to be wrong, which makes it hard when people are uncomfortably honest with us.

But we need to be thankful for honesty in other people. I once heard someone say, "Only two people will tell you the truth about yourself: someone who is angry with you and someone who loves you very much." God uses both types in our lives, but He especially uses the honesty of friends and loved ones.

When someone can, in love, honestly show you how you can improve, the results will be so much more valuable than empty, ego-stroking compliments. It's this kind of relationship that the Bible describes as 'iron sharpening iron.'

I urge you to be thankful for people who tell you the truth about yourself, even if it's not what you want to hear.

When you hear the truth, especially something you weren't aware of, you can change. Ultimately, their honesty will make you a better person.

PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!

As we know Mother's Day is slowly  approaching. I was asked to create gift bags for Mother's and I am stuck. I wanted to keep it small and memorable. In the bag I decided to place an Organic green tea bag, a shortbread cookie that will be in the shape of a flower. That's all I have...

I don't know what else to put that is cute, inexpensive and will fit into the small gift bags. I would like to stay on the same theme of tea and shortbread cookies. Any ideas?
